A glut, I tell thee!

A glut, I tell thee!

And still, we want more :)

Greetings, Ciderling!

Tap night tomorrow Friday 12th September!

We hope any youngish people in your life got back to school/college/uni/loafing around the house okay. The weather’s started to turn and we’re enjoying the new pencil case fresh-start feeling of September, especially as it’s apple picking season! Each year we get a little creakier. So each year we welcome as many extra helping hands as we can get.

A picture of an orchard with apples piled high in every direction

How do we like those apples? We like them very much, thank you. It’s looking like a bumper crop so far this year. We reckon we’ve already amassed about four tonnes so far, which will yield around 2,000 litres of juice. We’re in a rush to press as much as possible to make room for you all at the tap night tomorrow! If you fancy coming along to help us pick (and pick up) even more apples, we’ve got orchard picking days on…

17th September - near North Chailey
21st September - near High Hurstwood
5th October - near Bodian Castle
12th October - near Iden Green

We’ll feed you of course. And you can have a go on the hand powered apple mill to press yourself some fresh juice. Apples are all-you-can-eat as you help us bring in the harvest.

In case you’re new around here, we use the apples that would otherwise sit and rot. So by supporting Bignose & Beardy, you’re supporting independent cidermakers AND helping cut down on food waste!

Please book your free place so we know how much food to provide.

🍏 Apple appeal

Our 2025 apple appeal is well and truly open and we’ve already had lots of happy apple donors! We give you a bottle of cider per bag of apples (about 10kg) you donate to the cider cause. Win win! If you’ve got a neglected tree in your garden, have a scrump around with a carrier bag. Drop them with us at the farm and fill in a form so we can make sure you get your cidery dues. Just like Anni, Ferg, and Stewart did. Cheers!

🍻 Tap n tours

Tomorrow Friday 12th September is our next cidery tour and tap night at our Framfield cidery, and our last combo tour ‘n’ tap of the year. If you get a ticket to the tour, you get into the tap night free of charge. Or if you can’t get to us til later on, book yourself in on the tap night right here. It starts at 6pm.

If you haven’t been to a tap night before, you’ve only got two more chances left this year - the next one is 3rd October then we’re all done for 2025. So come along and squeeze the last drops of (technically) summertime!

Cheers!
