Apple Appeal
THE 2026 APPLE APPEAL OPENS SEPT 5th!
This year's apple appeal opens on September 5th. Our final pressing is on Friday 23rd October. Bring us your unwanted apples and we'll swap them for cider!
Normally around 70% of the apples we use for cider are gifted to us from gardens and private orchards in East Sussex. These apples would otherwise go to waste, rotting on the orchard floor. Some years ALL of our apples arrived this way: last year was a BUMPER harvest.
This year we are expecting a smaller harvest after all that dry heat so if you have an apple tree or orchard we would love to have any unwanted fruit for our cider production. We also take pears. All you need to do is bring them to us in Framfield. We’ll take any variety and they can even be a little bruised (though not rotten). Every large bag (around 10kg) of apples is exchanged for a bottle of Bignose & Beardy cider.
We run our Apple Appeal every September and October. Sign up to our newsletter below for for news on this year’s appeal.
Please bring your apples to the Cidery at: Upper Brookhouse Farmhouse, Brookhouse Lane, Framfield, TN22 5QJ.
Our What/Three/Words location is: acute.fermented.begin
It is the last turn on the left before the bottom of the lane coming from the village. Follow the drive round to the right and come though the gate. The Cidery is on your right.
Make sure you fill in a form as we have to keep a record of all our fruit.
If we are not in to give you some cider, we’ll contact you to arrange another time for you to collect (fill in a form!).
