Sussex Pommeau

BRAND NEW LIMITED EDITION!

Inspired by the traditional digestif from Normandy and Brittany, this is our Sussex take. Made from our apple juice blended with our Spirit of Cider to prevent fermentation, which preserves the full apple aroma, fruity sweetness, and pleasant acidity.

At 17% our Pommeau is a bit like a liqueur and can be enjoyed in a similar way as either a pre meal aperitif, where the sweet acidity sets you up for the coming delights or as a digestif at the end to round things off nicely.

We REALLY like it as digestif. It's especially good with appley puddings, crumbles, and sponges like sticky toffee pudding. Sweet, sharp and punchy it really brings out fruity notes. And with Chocolate it's even better. You have to try it with dark chocolate!

We are launching with a limited run of 25 500ml bottles, just to see how it goes down and we plan to develop this product further during the year.

Rowdy and Fancy's are an East Sussex producer based a couple of villages from us. They make exquisite organic, eco friendly chocolates by hand. Their logo features Adam and Eve and asks what would have happened if there had been a choice between chocolate and the apple. (We wonder what would have happened if the apple had fermented first). Rowdy and Fancy's couldn't be a better fit with Bignose & Beardy and their chocolate goes so well with this drink.

We ship orders on Tuesdays and Thursdays but please allow up to seven days for delivery once you have ordered. This is because we only work on the Bignose & Beardy part time as we have other jobs the rest of the week. Often we can get an order out quicker, but we can't guarantee it.

Deliveries must be signed for by a person aged 18 or over. Drivers operate a challenge 25 policy: if you appear under 25 you will be asked for photo ID.

If you live really nearby to us (within 3 miles) we'll deliver to you for free on orders of £20 or more. Just place your order and if your postcode qualifies, free shipping will automatically be added to your order. If you end up paying for shipping by accident we'll refund the shipping and still deliver for free. What's not to love?!

Local customers, select the pick up option on check out to avoid paying delivery charges on this order. You can collect from the Cidery on Fridays or at other times by appointment.

We work with a neighbouring business to ship our goods (as they can get better prices than we can - being bigger than us). The shipping cost is based on the total weight of your order and is automatically calculated at checkout. We can ship most products (up to 20kg) for £10.00 to the UK. Some of our products are lighter and so cost less. It can make sense to add an item to your order to make the most of the shipping costs:
