End of Term Sprint

Bignose doesn’t want your pity (much)
Greetings, Ciderling!
Our fridge box offer is on til the end of July. And it’s tap night time again this Friday. The weather’s looking SCORCHIO 🌞
We’re more into rugby than football. But still, what a shame. Anyway, the Olympics start in about a week and after that it’s (best part we reckon) the Paralympics.
So, what sportier time of year to share this little story?
Long ago, Bignose (aka Phil) took part in the parents’ race at school sports day.
After training for 12 weeks, getting up at the crack of dawn every Sunday to fit in a 7km run, tapering his running schedule, planning out his hydration, and finally carb loading the night before, Phil stood poised and limbered at the start line.
It was his time. He whispered to himself “you’ve got this” as he slurped one last sachet of energy gel.
You could almost hear the Chariots Of Fire theme tune in the wind as the headteacher said… “Ready… steady… GO!”
Phil set off strong, pacing himself for a glorious sprint finish. It was all going so well until...
🏃🏻♂️
...he buggered up his back.
PROPERLY buggered it up. Hasn’t been the same since. Team that with long-COVID and creaky knees and it’s a wonder he doesn’t grumble (even) more.
Are you a sporty type? Regardless, feel free to lend a hand with the harvest for some very light exercise.
What’s your gut feeling?
Did you know, Apple Cider Vinegar is great for your guts? We’ve been playing with Libby and Henry at Field Food to try out different infusions to create some flavoured versions we can experiment with. In theory they’ll be great in cocktails, cooking and as a quick gut-shot. We are particularly excited about the possibility of an alcohol free apple vinegar vermouth sort of thing. As with all fermentation and experimentation, time will tell, so watch this space.
Any guesses on which flavours we’ve gone for? 🔍👀
Cheers!
