Description

A single batch case of 2023 This Little Piggy.

Made with Cox, Worcester, Bramley and Howgate Wonder all from Laurel Tree farm at Boars Head plus Dabinett and Michelin cider apples from Quarry Farm.

This apple cider is one of a pair of identical wild fermented batches that developed into very distinct ciders. Dry, crisply acidic with a smooth slow finish.

Try its sister batch This Little Piggy and marvel at the difference.

Orchard Notes

Laurel Tree Farm
This commercial orchard at Boar's Head near Crowborough produces a high quality fruit for the super markets. In poorer harvest years we take some of their unsold wonky and windfall apples and give them a purpose, while providing an outlet for otherwise unsaleable fruit.

Quarry Farm, near Battle
The cider fruit used in this batch come from Sussex's only commercial grower of cider apples, Quarry Fram. Most of the fruit used to get sent to the west country but we now turn up to pick in the Autumn so some at least stays local - adding rich tannin depth and a long finish to our ciders. They have a farm shop with an excellent cafe, if you happen to be visiting nearby Bodium Castle.

Delivery Information

We ship orders on Tuesdays and Thursdays but please allow up to seven days for delivery once you have ordered. This is because we only work on the Bignose & Beardy part time as we have other jobs the rest of the week. Often we can get an order out quicker, but we can't guarantee it.

Deliveries must be signed for by a person aged 18 or over. Drivers operate a challenge 25 policy: if you appear under 25 you will be asked for photo ID.

If you live really nearby to us (within 3 miles) we'll deliver to you for free on orders of £20 or more. Just place your order and if your postcode qualifies, free shipping will automatically be added to your order. If you end up paying for shipping by accident we'll refund the shipping and still deliver for free. What's not to love?!

(NB if you are browsing in ‘private’ mode the free shipping automatic selection does not work)

Local customers, select the pick up option on check out to avoid paying delivery charges on this order. You can collect from the Cidery on Fridays or at other times by appointment.

We work with a neighbouring business to ship our goods (as they can get better prices than we can - being bigger than us). The shipping cost is based on the total weight of your order and is automatically calculated at checkout. We can ship most products (up to 20kg) for £10.00 to the UK. Some of our products are lighter and so cost less. It can make sense to add an item to your order to make the most of the shipping costs:
