Description

JANUARY 16th 2027
1600-1900
BOOK EARLY TO AVOID DISAPPOINTMENT
"Brilliantly bonkers evening. Loved it."
"Now that's what I call an effing-good night out!!"

Come and join us for a traditional wassailing. We need your help as we ask for blessing for the coming year's crop and chase out evil spirits from the orchard. Expect cider and food, craft activities, music and singing and a LOT of of raucous noise!

We'll be enjoying mulled cider, our spirit of cider and vinegar, local food producers and we'll have a number of family friendly activities planned before darkness falls and we light the torches...

Try your hand at:

  • Cider tasting (and spirit of cider tasting)
  • Noise makers to ward off evil
  • Apple towers
  • Bread twists to ask for blessing (and make a wish)
  • Treasure hunt to try your luck
  • Clay pot making
  • Singing and wassailing rituals

Cider and Mulled cider and food stands from local producers. Plus we'll have cider, spirit of cider and vinegar for sale to take home.

Book a CIDER PACK to collect and carry home. This is a wassail exclusive pack of five different ciders, a small bottle of our Spirit of Cider and some mulling spices so you can carry the wassail vibe back to your home. It is 1/3 off normal prices and includes your ticket to the event. Your pack will be available to collect in carry home boxes on the night.

Dress warmly for the weather and bring a musical instrument to bang blow or strum. We need to make some noise! We'll be dressing up and we'd love it if you would like to too.

Entry tickets cost £6.50 for for adults and children, which includes all activities. We sold out last year, book early to avoid disappointment.

This is not a dog-friendly event.

The event is at the The Cidery, Upper Brookhouse, Brookhouse Lane, Framfield TN22 5QJ

(We are the last turn on the left before the bottom of the lane coming from the village)

Our What/3/Words location is: acute.fermented.begin

Wassail Info

Ticket Information & Photo Usage

All the event details are given on this page.

You will be able to access your tickets via the link in the order confirmation email sent to you, and from the order confirmation page.

You can save tickets to your device wallet, print off a copy or just show us the QR code on your device when you arrive. You can forward your ticket on to other guests too.

We also have your details on our list so we can register you on arrival without a QR code - don't worry if you can't print it off or have no signal when you arrive, just tell us your name.

We may take photographs of the event and we encourage you to as well. We will use these in our social media and marketing campaigns. Let us know if you do not want us to use photo's with you or your guests in this way.

Event Refund Information

We will issue a refund for event tickets on request up to one week before an event. After that it is hard for us to resell a ticket and we may already have incurred expenses on your behalf.

Refunds will be for the full amount minus the ticketing fee we will have paid for each ticket (£1 per ticket) and a £5 admin fee.

Ideally we'd prefer to reschedule your ticket to another date or event where an equivalent is available, there is no fee for this.

How to get to us

We are in the countryside, which presents some challenges if you would rather not drive. So here are some ideas for getting to us in ways that allow you to enjoy our cider.

Firstly - get a lift.

The Cidery is at: Upper Brookhouse Farmhouse, Brookhouse Lane, Framfield, TN22 5QJ. We are on Google Maps and Apple Maps.

Our What/Three/Words location is: acute.fermented.begin

We are the last turn on the left before the stream at the bottom of the lane, coming from the village or the first on the right as you approach Framfield.

Taxis from Uckfield:

Uckfield Taxis - 0772 5665 609
Ultra Taxi - 0757 0757 555
Where2PrivateHire - 0741 4726 691

Take the bus

The 29A runs from Brighton via Lewes and Uckfield (by the train station) right to Framfield and goes to Heathfield before coming back. It's a ten minute walk from the bus stop.

The 500 runs from Eastbourne to Gatwick airport via Uckfield, so fly in from anywhere in the world and reach us by public transport - cool!

Take the Train

Trains run from London Bridge to Uckfield from where you can take the bus, a taxi or walk the two miles to the Cidery.

Walk from Uckfield

You can walk up the lane - but no footpath up the hill makes it less than fun.

Instead consider walking through Hempstead Meadow (by the train station via Waitrose car park), skirting Manor Park and crossing the railway at Hempstead Mill. Then its footpaths and quiet lanes into Framfield and down Brookhouse Lane.

You can also walk up the hill from the station to Ridgewood, left past the Co-op down to Fearnley Park and across the fields to Brookhouse Lane.

Local Accommodation Options

Obviously, not everyone lives near us. If you are tempted to visit us or join one of our events and you don't live locally, why not make a trip of it?

There is so much to do around here, from walks in the Sussex Weald, Ashdown Forest and South Downs National Park to visits to the beaches of the Sussex Coast. We are swamped with National Trust sites, and have three steam train lines nearby. Plus there are wild swimming sites, ancient villages, pubs, breweries, amazing places to eat…

Here are some places to stay really nearby:

Beautiful, serene, low frills and in the village

Very cool glamping option within walking distance
