Blossom! - Tap Nights! - Brewhaven

A bumper year for blossom – we haven’t previously seen flowers quite so prolific in the orchard at B&B HQ – providing we escape any mid May frosts then we should be looking at a great year for fruit.

The orchard has also been transformed into the venue for our monthly Tap Night – the first of which took place at the beginning of the month, a chilled out vibe around the firepit with backing music from our local duo ‘Stardust’. A lovely evening drinking cider topped off with a clear sky and huge full moon.

On the same days as the Tap Nights are our afternoon Cidery Tour and Tasting events – these events include a tour of the orchard talking about trees and apples, followed by a visit to the cider barn to see the production equipment and talk about how we make our ciders and lastly finished off with a generous tasting session at the bar. The festival calendar kicked off at Brewhaven, Newhaven Fort at the end of April / beginning of May – we regard this event as the ‘season opener’, an excellent time had by all – even if it was a little chilly. From here on the diary is starting to get pretty busy – the next festival on the agenda is ‘Beer & Cider by the Sea’ at Eastbourne mid May – here you will find our medium ‘Little Gill’ gracing the cider bar.
