Description
Learn how to prune apple trees
Are you curious to know how to get the best from your apple trees? Do you feel you should do something with your trees but are nervous about doing something wrong? Maybe you are just curious and want to learn some new skills?
Join us at the Cidery for a hands-on pruning course on Saturday 7th Feb 2026 led by our very own Bignose (Phil).
Phil will cover:
- Why we prune our trees for health and productivity
- How to use different tools and techniques
- Different approaches for spur and tip fruiting varieties
- How to plan your pruning for each tree
- How to manage sequential pruning over several years
We'll practice the techniques on our trees under Phil's watchful eye so you are confident to work on your own trees when you go home.
Tea, coffee, cake and lunch are included. Plus we'll do a cheeky cider tasting at the end too.
Dress for the weather, it could be cold and wet. We can supply gloves and tools and you are welcome to bring your own.
This event is at the The Cidery, Upper Brookhouse, Brookhouse Lane, Framfield TN22 5QJ
Our What/3/Words location is: acute.fermented.begin.
Ticket Information
All the event details are given on this page.
You will be able to access your tickets via the link in the order confirmation email sent to you, and from the order confirmation page.
You can save tickets to your device wallet, print off a copy or just show us the QR code on your device when you arrive. You can forward your ticket on to other guests too.
We also have your details on our list so we can register you on arrival without a QR code - don't worry if you can't print it off or have no signal when you arrive, just tell us your name.
Event Refund Information
We will issue a refund for event tickets on request up to one week before an event. After that it is hard for us to resell a ticket and we may already have incurred expenses on your behalf.
Refunds will be for the full amount minus the ticketing fee we will have paid for each ticket (£1 per ticket) and a £5 admin fee.
Ideally we'd prefer to reschedule your ticket to another date or event where an equivalent is available, there is no fee for this.
