Description

A single batch case of 2021 Dirty Rascal.

This field blend from the eastern edge of East Sussex includes apples from Castle Hill in Brenchley and The Standen Street Community Orchard.

It took a long time to mature: a bit too rough in the early years its now mellowed into a highly quaffable drink. Though its still got a rapscallion glint in its eye.

Orchard Notes

Standen Street Community Orchard

This community orchard has 100’s of co-owners. Originally set up in the 70’s as an investment scheme - to cash in when the houses got built. That never happened and never will now. Now all about community and apples, anyone can join and have a share in the orchard which has a huge variety of apples, plants and wildlife. Come and join us at their apple day for a picking session (Iden Green)

Castle Hill, Brenchley

This private orchard was wildly over grown but its new owners were determined to bring it back into production and find a use for the fruit. Old trees that still bear heavy fruit in high but sheltered spot on the East Sussex, Kent border.

Delivery Information

We ship orders on Tuesdays and Thursdays but please allow up to seven days for delivery once you have ordered. This is because we only work on the Bignose & Beardy part time as we have other jobs the rest of the week. Often we can get an order out quicker, but we can't guarantee it.

Deliveries must be signed for by a person aged 18 or over. Drivers operate a challenge 25 policy: if you appear under 25 you will be asked for photo ID.

If you live really nearby to us (within 3 miles) we'll deliver to you for free on orders of £20 or more. Just place your order and if your postcode qualifies, free shipping will automatically be added to your order. If you end up paying for shipping by accident we'll refund the shipping and still deliver for free. What's not to love?!

(NB if you are browsing in ‘private’ mode the free shipping automatic selection does not work)

Local customers, select the pick up option on check out to avoid paying delivery charges on this order. You can collect from the Cidery on Fridays or at other times by appointment.

We work with a neighbouring business to ship our goods (as they can get better prices than we can - being bigger than us). The shipping cost is based on the total weight of your order and is automatically calculated at checkout. We can ship most products (up to 20kg) for £10.00 to the UK. Some of our products are lighter and so cost less. It can make sense to add an item to your order to make the most of the shipping costs:
