SOON! Limited run effervescent cider batch 👀

Greetings, Ciderling!

🍏 special release Thursday 6th March - Sunday 9th March (sooner if we sell out!) 🍏

Big news. We mentioned in our last email we had an unexpected brucie bonus with one of our batches.

Our Ridgeback batch went rogue and fermented itself into a frenzy. It ended up as a lovely fizzy dry drop. Unlike some commercial ciders, it’s 100% fermented fizz, not carbonated (except by nature). We’d call it “fine cider”, but then we’d have to put it in big bottles with fancy corks. Or at least redo our labels, which seems a waste. So instead we’ve stuck a special sticker on it to show it’s done well.

A hand holds up a bottle of Ridgeback cider with a special sticker that says Limited edition bottle conditioned

It’s rare as hens’ teeth. And you can get your mitts on some. Very soon!

We’ve got a limited run of just 13 cases of this bottled conditioned and aged cider which comes in at 8% ABV. She’s a strong one.

It’s going on sale Thursday 6th May until Sunday 9th May, while stocks last. And it’s exclusive to you, lovely subscriber. No riffraff from outside our email list allowed.

Look out for the email on Thursday.

🚜 Down on the farm

Following on from our pruning course (use the Ds to check what to remove - disease, damage, direction, distance, dead) we’re messing around with blades and branches again. We’ve been learning how to lay hedges the proper way . Not only do they look much nicer than rigid uniform wooden fences, they also make a wonderful habitat for wildlife. When you cut a young treeling back to within an inch of its life, it looks absolutely brutal. But it’ll (hopefully…) burst into rapid growth when Spring properly hits. Isn’t nature great?

Bignose (Phil) hacks a tree down until it only has a tiny bit of trunk intact. Four men stood next to a woven wooden fence between two fields.

🍻 Cidery tour and tasting

Next month, we’ve got our first cidery tour and tasting session of 2025! Get your tickets and come down to the farm for the three Ts; Tour, Tasting, and Talking (lots of the talking bit) as we walk you through how we turn waste apples into liquid gold. You also get a discount on a three bottle gift pack to take home if you buy it at the same time as your ticket.

Come and take the tour on Saturday 19th of April
