Pommelier? Oui, oui. đ§

Taking cider seriously.Â
Greetings, Ciderling!
Itâll come as zero surprise to hear we love Autumn. Cosy socks and stew. Frosty bright mornings. Wearing sunglasses and a woolly hat at the same time.
We also love autumn because itâs HARVEST SEASON! Finally, we get to see whether all that wassailing and spirit-bribing we did back in January actually worked.
But weâll need some extra hands on deck to pick all the apples. Noooooo, itâs not exploitation. Not at all. Here are six things you get in return for the manual labour:
đ A go on the apple press*
đ Free BBQ feast
đ§ Juice to take home
đ As many apples as you can eat
đ A sense of enormous wellbeing
đ€« In-cider secrets about how we make and bottle Bignose & Beardy cider
*operate at own finger risk
Weâve also officially launched our Apple Appeal 2024âŠsee below. As always, weâll give you a bottle of cider for every large shopping bag of apples you donate to our juicy cause.
Youâre in the draw!
In case youâve had your finger hovering over âunsubscribeâ, hereâs a reason to PLEASE DONâT LEAVE, JUST GIVE US ANOTHER CHANCE! Ahem. Sorry. What we mean to say is, if youâre reading this in our email newsletter youâre entered into our monthly prize draw. Weâll mix up the prize each month but rest assured itâll be delicious, whatever it is. Keep an eye on our social media to find out what you might win just by doing nothing.
Philâs course (Pommelier)
We had a bit of good fortune recently when Bignose aka Phil won a Pommelier course with The Ciderologist! We already offer tastings at our Cidery Tours (new dates for 2025 btwâŠ) and one-off events. We like to think we know what weâre talking about. But weâre humble enough (honest!) to be open to learning more. Turns out thereâs a whole barrelful of knowledge weâre missing. Weâll report back after Philâs honed his famous schnozâs sniffing skills.
đđ Apple appealÂ
Weâve already started to get apples in by the literal sackload. Each year, we invite local folk to donate their surplus apples to get juiced and abandoned (nature does the fermenting for us)Â
Â
Â
We got a massive haul from the newly discovered Newick Allotment orchard! Canât wait to see how the cider turns out.
And finally, now the weatherâs gone a bit chilly, shameless plug for our cider mulling kit. You can use it with apple juice too for an alcohol-free winter - we mean, Autumn - warmer.

Cheers!
