Pommelier? Oui, oui. š§

Taking cider seriously.Ā
Greetings, Ciderling!
Itāll come as zero surprise to hear we love Autumn. Cosy socks and stew. Frosty bright mornings. Wearing sunglasses and a woolly hat at the same time.
We also love autumn because itās HARVEST SEASON! Finally, we get to see whether all that wassailing and spirit-bribing we did back in January actually worked.
But weāll need some extra hands on deck to pick all the apples. Noooooo, itās not exploitation. Not at all. Here are six things you get in return for the manual labour:
š A go on the apple press*
š Free BBQ feast
š§ Juice to take home
š As many apples as you can eat
š A sense of enormous wellbeing
𤫠In-cider secrets about how we make and bottle Bignose & Beardy cider
*operate at own finger risk
Weāve also officially launched our Apple Appeal 2024ā¦see below. As always, weāll give you a bottle of cider for every large shopping bag of apples you donate to our juicy cause.
Youāre in the draw!
In case youāve had your finger hovering over āunsubscribeā, hereās a reason to PLEASE DONāT LEAVE, JUST GIVE US ANOTHER CHANCE! Ahem. Sorry. What we mean to say is, if youāre reading this in our email newsletter youāre entered into our monthly prize draw. Weāll mix up the prize each month but rest assured itāll be delicious, whatever it is. Keep an eye on our social media to find out what you might win just by doing nothing.
Philās course (Pommelier)
We had a bit of good fortune recently when Bignose aka Phil won a Pommelier course with The Ciderologist! We already offer tastings at our Cidery Tours (new dates for 2025 btwā¦) and one-off events. We like to think we know what weāre talking about. But weāre humble enough (honest!) to be open to learning more. Turns out thereās a whole barrelful of knowledge weāre missing. Weāll report back after Philās honed his famous schnozās sniffing skills.
šš Apple appealĀ
Weāve already started to get apples in by the literal sackload. Each year, we invite local folk to donate their surplus apples to get juiced and abandoned (nature does the fermenting for us)Ā
Ā
Ā
We got a massive haul from the newly discovered Newick Allotment orchard! Canāt wait to see how the cider turns out.
And finally, now the weatherās gone a bit chilly, shameless plug for our cider mulling kit. You can use it with apple juice too for an alcohol-free winter - we mean, Autumn - warmer.
