The blossom is here - We are a COOL Brand (officially)

Spring time at the cidery is great, not least because our hands don’t freeze while bottling and packing!

The orchard is starting to burst into blossom – mainly cherries and pears so far, although a few have suffered the effects of frost burn – but not too bad, fingers crossed we won’t see too many more cold snaps here on. 

Spring sees the start of events and festivals returning – it will be exciting to get back out meeting customers. For us the season starts middle of April with ‘Brewhaven’ – a beer and cider festival featuring local producers right in the heart of Newhaven Fort - an impressive venue.

We are also very chuffed to be able to announce that Bignose & Beardy has been voted a cool brand 2021/22 by CoolBrands® (coolbrandsuk.com). Their panel of judges voted us cool for authenticity, desirability, innovation, originality and environmental responsibility. We thought it was because of our cardigans, sandals and receding hair!

We thought we would do something to celebrate that kind of cool, so we decided to recognise other people who are actually cool, creating a special cider called ‘Cool to the Core’ and we’ve given it a shiny label. It's a tiny bit like an Oscar. Over the last few weeks, nominations have been coming in for the coolest of folks for a variety of good reasons – the best of these will receive one of our prize bottles in recognition for being so cool. Well done guys!

New for 2022 - with summer just around the corner we decided to do something different this year – the cidery will be opened up for a series of tours, tastings and taproom sessions.
