New names - Keeping it local
Apr 07, 2021
Thanks for all the name suggestions for our new 2021 batches – we settled on ‘Cheeky Mick’, ‘Remains of the Day’ and ‘Boars Back’. Some of the other offerings were also really good, we’ll keep those in reserve for next time!
The new labels are now at the printers, so these new batches should start featuring in club boxes from next month.
You may recall we also ran taste tests on a fourth batch, a perry – we decided that one wasn’t quite ready – the lid has been tightened on the tank and will mature for another few months before trying again – it will come good, they always do.
We’ve been focussing on promoting and supplying local of recent weeks, interest in local produce has certainly grown over the last year - a ‘silver lining’ of the lock-down cloud. From this we’ve seen enquiries and requests to stock our cider from a few farm shops and local produce stores – latest being ‘One Garden Brighton’ and ‘Plaw Hatch Farm Shop’ – we recommend a visit to both, not just for the great produce being sold, but also to see the amazing re-creation of historic gardens and how organic principles are followed at the farm – a good day out.
Life on the farm at B&B HQ has also been busy over the last few weeks. The fields have been harrowed and rolled to smooth out the lumps and bumps and the lambing tent has been set up ready for arrivals this month – don’t forget the LAMB21 discount offer on the B&B shop – cumulative for every new lamb arrival!
We hope you enjoy this month’s selection. You can find all the details about each cider on the website, as well as the link to our shop: www.Bignoseandbeardy.com.
Wassail!
